Women & Theatre is recruiting a Support Artist Practitioner, aged 16 – 24, to work with us on all aspects of project delivery including performance, stage management, workshop delivery, podcast creation, digital communications, and project-related administration.

This post is funded by Department for Work & Pensions Kickstart programme. Applicants must be aged 16 – 24, accessing Universal Credit, and be referred to the opportunity via their job coach.

This paid position offers a creative individual the chance to gain professional experience working across a variety of projects for an award-winning Birmingham-based theatre company. In addition to on-the-job training, the post-holder will also access training from Creative Alliance. They will have the opportunity to secure a Level 3 qualification (awarded by Aim Awards) in an area of Digital Skills for Business (Marketing, Design, Content Production or Coding) and access Employability support from Creative Alliance, covering CV writing, portfolios and interview techniques.

Women & Theatre is an award-winning theatre company with over 35 years’ experience of working with diverse groups to create exciting drama projects about things that matter. Working across arts, health and community sectors, we deliver drama activity including workshops, performances and participatory drama projects in a range of settings. W&T also works digitally, delivering creative workshops and projects via Zoom and engaging with digital audiences through films and podcasts.

Working as a valued member of Women & Theatre’s small staff team, the successful candidate will have plenty of opportunity to use their talents in a variety of contexts.

Key Information

6-month fixed term contract starting in July 2021

£8.91 per hour

25 hours a week including some evenings & weekends.

Some delivery work will take place in different venues across Birmingham. The role will also involve office-based work in Moseley, Birmingham and some home-working.
