What is a Critical Friend?
A Critical Friend offers feedback on Women & Theatre’s work and practice in order to support the company in maintaining our values and improving our work. We are looking for someone who knows the company, either as an audience member, artist or participant, or has experience of working with community arts organisations and share our values.
What do I need to do?
You will attend infrequent meetings where you will feedback your experiences, views and ideas. These would be led by an independent facilitator who will feedback to the company. Additionally you will be invited to see our shows, sit in a rehearsal, attend workshops, meetings and/or read some of our evaluations. We’re looking for a diverse group of people interested in some or all of these areas.
Benefits for Critical Friends
You will receive free tickets to our performances and access to certain workshops and planning meetings to learn more about how the company works. Women & Theatre will also host social events for critical friends across the year.
When would this start?
The first event we will invite our Critical Friends to is our The New Land Girls performance at Warley Woods on Saturday 14th September – then a meeting would be arranged before Christmas. Don’t worry if you can’t make the show in September, you can still apply to become a critical friend.
