Allied Health Professionals: Joining the Dots

Posted on Jun 12, 2019

Women & Theatre were commissioned by Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust to develop an impactful theatre piece that reflects the experiences and opinions of different Allied Health Professionals and explores the benefits of and challenges around organisational change.

In May, Hannah Graham and Janice Connolly carried out research, speaking to people from different therapeutic disciplines and at different stages of their careers, from students to senior managers.  From this research, Hannah produced an engaging collection of monologues for performance at BCHC’s ‘Developing the AHP workforce for the Future’ Development Days.

On 6 June 2019, we delivered our first two sessions with performances of ‘Joining the Dots’ from Alison Belbin, Hema Mangoo and Keiren Amos. Both performances were very well received, invoking great feedback from audiences, and their active engagement with our post show discussions, facilitated by Alison Belbin.

We are very much looking forward to further sessions later this month.
