An inclusive drama group for adults (18+), launching this autumn at the Legacy Centre of Excellence in Aston. The Brummie Ensemble is the meeting point. For stories waiting to be told and for people who may, otherwise, never have met. Bringing people together from different walks of life – of all generations, backgrounds, identities, and experiences to co-create exciting, original theatre. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or curious to try theatre for the first time, this is your space to explore and grow.

We are particularly keen to hear from people who are care experienced, carers, people with additional needs, and those aged 50+ and are at risk of social isolation.

More about the project:

Women & Theatre have been awarded funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to run The Brummie Ensemble for 3 years. Each year will have two terms and one public performance, and our first term starts this autumn!

In this first term we will focus on theatre, performance and music. Working with professional artists over 10 weeks of workshops, ending in a sharing of work in development.

Access is a priority. We’re committed to making sure everyone can participate meaningfully. Like all Women & Theatre projects, it is free to participate.

No auditions. No experience needed. Only your curiosity. From workshops to full productions, we focus on process, community and the joy of storytelling.

Come as you are. Let’s make theatre that reflects the world around us.
